The Kansas State Wildcats take the field with the Michigan Wolverines in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.

Michigan looked as if they were on of the teams to beat in the Big Ten with a 5-0 start but things weren't very smooth the rest of the way with a 2-5 finish. The team was involved in no less then six contests decided by no more then a single score but did struggle offensively the last half ot the season. Overall the Wolverines defense was tough to move the ball on with 367 yards an under 27 points while the offense averaged almosy 34 points on 383 yards. Devin Gardner was a solid passed with 2,960 yards on 60% completions for 21 touchdowns and eleven picks. Jeremy Gallon was the star receiver with 1,284 yards on 80 receptions with Devin Funchess a quality number two with 47 catches for 727 yards. The rushing attack struggled mightily with Fitzgerald Toussaint (183-646) and Gardner (165-483) not even averaging over 3 1/2 yards.

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas State wasn't as fearsome as they were a year ago but they are going Bowling so it wasn't all that bad. The Wildcats were driven by defense with 367 yards and 23 points allowed behind above average run and pass D's. This unit often gave their offensive counterparts field positin and it was needed with the attack producing 401 yards but a very solid 33 points. Jake Waters and crew didn't stand out in any one area but he did a decent enough job throwing the ball by hitting on 59% of his throws for 2,198 yards with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions with stand out receiver Tyler Lockett easily the best receiving option with 1,146 yards and eight scores on 71 catches. KSU could run the ball when they decided to with John Hubert and Daniel Sams combining for 1,753 yards on 330 carries with both averaging just under 5 1/2 yards.

Michigan has been a mystery to me and I'm not sure if I would like betting on or against them especially with Gardner and his turf toe. Give me the points in a game I will decide on by Saturday morning...
