The Arizona Wildcats and Boston College Eagles take the field in the Advocare V100 Bowl at Independence Stadium.
Arizona appeared to be Bowl bound but made things difficult for themselves down the stretch with defeats in three of four to end the season. The Wildcats gave up their share of yards with 405 but kept the scoreboard competitive with under 25 points given up. The offense was above average with 453 yards and 33 points behind the #11 rushing attack that produced 266 yards. Although Zona was a run first squad BJ Denker completed 60.5% of his attempts for 2,241 yards with 14 touchdowns and seven picks. Nate Phillips (42-503), Terrance Miller (39-456) and Samajie Grant (45-355) formed the nucleus of the receiving corps. Ka'Deem Carey was the work horse on the ground with 1,720 yards on 323 carries with Denker adding nearly 900 yards with his legs to be a solid dual threat.

Midway through the season Boston College didn't look much like a Bowl candidate but the Eagles saved their season with a 4-1 run behind above average scoring. The overall numbers did not stand out with the defense giving up 432 yards and nearly 28 points while the offense totaled 369 yards and 28 points behind the #20 rushing game that produced just under 220 yards. The run first Eagles actually threw the ball well behind Chase Rettig who connected on 61.6% for 1,809 yards with 17 scores and six picks. Alex Amidon was the only receiver with more then 12 receptions with 67 for 900 yards with a 13.4 yard average and five TD's. The rushing attack could be summed up in two words; Andre Williams. Williams was beyond compare with 2,102 yards on a monster 329 carries for a 6.4 average and 17 rips to the end zone.
Both teams have strong rushing attacks so this one could very well be decided by the team that can throw the ball a lttle bit. I don't have a great feel for this one so for now I will yake the points an update by Tuesday...
