Clemson probably had dreams of winning the ACC championship but unfortunately Florida State was the 900 pound gorilla and left the Tigers staring at second. The Tigers were still a formiddable group with a stong defense and very potent scoring machine. The D only allowed 350 yards and 21 points with less then 200 yards allowed through the air. The attack of the Tigers generally stole the show with over 500 yards and 40 points behind the #11 passing game that produced 330 yards per contest. Tajh Boyd was an amazing talent under center with 3,473 yards for 29 touchdowns and nine picks on 67.6% completions. Sammy Watkins was on the receiving end of 85 throws for 1,237 yards with Martavis Bryant adding another 800 yards on just 39 catches. The run wasn't the Tigers fortay with Roderick McDowell leading the way with 956 yards on 177 carries.

Ohio State seemed destined for the National Championship until dropping the Big Ten title game to Michigan State. As with most contenders the Buckeyes could score and defend although the defense gave up 75 points in the final two games. Overall the D allowed 362 yards and 21 points with only 103 yards coming on the ground which was overkill with the offense amassing 520 yards and and 46 points behind the number three rushing attack that totaled 318 yards. Braxton Miller paced the air game with 1,860 yards with 22 touchdowns and five interceptions with Philly Brown and Devin Smith each recording 655 receiving yards and a combined 18 scores. The Buckeyes were a handful on the ground with Carlos Hyde (183-1409) and Miller (153-1033) doing most of the damage while Jordan Hall was a quality third option with 536 yards on 81 totes.
Well...I smell points in this one with both teams capable of putting up 40 points. Hopefully we don't see the punters very often...
