The Arkansas State Red Wolves take on the Ball State Cardinals in the GoDaddy Bowl.
The Sun Belt title was the Red Wolves for the taking heading in to the final game of the regular season but a loss to Western Kentucky meant a tie for first with Louisiana-Lafayette. Arkansas State was in the middle of the pack defensively with 420 yards and 27 points allowed while scoring almost 30 points on 413 yards with the #25 rushing attack totaling 207 yards. ASU did not put the ball in the air real often but Adam Kennedy was dead accurate at 69% for 2,327 yards with eleven TD's and six picks. Julian Jones (51-630) and JD McKissic (72-578) were the top targets with Allen Muse and Darion Griswold combining for 657 yards on 49 receptions. Michael Gordon (106-717) was the star of the rushing attack with Kennedy (147-514) and David Oku (141-511) giving the team a little less then four yards per touch.

The offensive oriented Cardinals came within an awful five minutes of knocking off Northern Illinois for the MAC West crown. The defense was nothing special with 420 yards and 25 points given up but the offense was. This unit averaged 486 yards and 40 points behind the #9 passing attack that produced 333 yards with Keith Wenning enjoying an extremely productive season. Wenning completed 65% of his throws for 3,933 yards with 34 touchdowns and six interceptions with Willie Snead leading with 97 catches for 1,429 yards. Jamill Smith (63-855) and Jordan Williams (51-764) gave Wenning two very dependable options although the rest of the team accounted for more then 800 yards so there was no shortage of receivers. Jahwan Edwards was the work horse of the rushing attack with 964 yards on 184 carries while Horatio Banks totaled nearly 600 yards but tore up his knee and is out.
The MAC has generally looked bad in the Bowl season but I think it stops here with Ball State coming through big...
