Instate rivals the Colorado State Rams and the Colorado Buffaloes open up the 2014 season.
Jim McElwain looks to duplicate Colorado State's success from a season ago but he lost major parts of both lines and the main contributors in the ground game. The CSU passing attack is on solid footing behind quarterback Garrett Grayson who also happens to be the top returning runner with freshman Bryce Peters possibly the leading candidate at running back. The Rams receiving corps is in capable hands with Rashard Higgins and Joe Hansley as the top options once again. Perhaps we see more footballs in the air for the Rams offense but I think we need to see this team play to see where they stand.

If you look at Colorado in 2013 their four wins were a marked improvement but in the scope of things the offense still needed to do more scoring and the defense needed to get more stops. Quarterback Sefo Liufau had a decent 2013 campaign for the Buffaloes considering he was only a freshman and aside from losing Paul Richardson the receiving corps returns nearly everyone else but we can't ignore Richardson's 83 receptions. Christian Powell and Michael Adkins II give the Buffs experience in the ground game so the offense should be on equal footing with the 2013 squad. The defense returns a wealth of experience so on paper the logic says this side of the ball should improve.
My thinking here is Colorado won this game a year ago and should be better in 2014 while the Rams are rebuilding both lines so I'm laying the points...
