The Penn State Nittany Lions and Central Florida Knights open up the 2014 season in Ireland.
With some of the NCAA sanctions beginning to fade away new head coach James Franklin will have high expectations as Penn State has already been showing improvement before he arrived. The Nittany Lions offense is missing a few pieces at wide receiver and if they find them the air game will be quite good with now sophomore Christian Hackenberg destined to break the 3,000 yard passing mark with a little help. The Penn State running game needs some new faces along the offensive line to open holes for Zach Zwinak and Bill Belton and hope this duo can get further then four yards down the field.

Central Florida begins the post Blake Bortles era but there are other areas that lost ample talent so George O'Leary has a huge task of replacing loads of production while continuing to win. UCF tabs Justin Holman as the starter under center but he only has a handful of throws as far as experience goes but he will get help from a veteran receiving corps. The question on the ground is can William Stanbeck come close to matching the over 1,100 yards of the departed Storm Johnson and can he do it with the graduation of three all conference linemen. The Knights could be a defense first squad with most of this unit returning which could make the difference if the offense doesn't gel immediately.
I think most people look at Central Florida and see how much talent was lost but George O'Leary has an established talent base and will have a very good team. On the flip side I like how the Nittany Lions have looked the past few seasons and James Franklin knows what he's doing so...
