The Brigham Young Cougars and Texas Longhorns will meet Saturday in Royal Texas Memorial Stadium.

The Brigham Young Cougars dominated the Connecticut Huskies on the road, 35-10. Quarterback Taysom Hill looks like an absolute star and a Heisman dark horse, as he threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 97 yards and two touchdowns. Granted, it was against UConn, but if Hill can continue that type of production, watch out. Offensively, he was the man from start to finish, as BYU racked up 513 total yards and produced 28 first half points, putting the game away by halftime. Defensively, the Brigham Young Cougars allowed only 71 rushing yards and forced two turnovers. Bronson Kaufusi had two tackles for loss and senior Craig Bills came away with his sixth career interception.

Texas Longhorns vs. BYU Cougars CFB Pick, Odds, Prediction - 9/6/14

The Texas Longhorns cruised by the North Texas Mean Green with a 38-7 victory. However, the Longhorns lost their quarterback in David Ash due to yet another concussion, and he’s been ruled out for this game. Sophomore Tyrone Swoopes will now lead the Longhorns offense, and he only attempted 13 passes last season for 26 yards. This injury is going to put a lot more pressure on a running back tandem of Johnathan Gray and Malcolm Brown, a duo that rushed for over 100 yards and two touchdowns in week 1. Defensively, the Texas Longhorns must continue to generate pressure up front with guys such as Hassan Ridgeway, who had two tackles for loss in the season opener. The Longhorns also intercepted four passes, looking a lot like the Texas defenses of old.

The Cougars are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Big 12 and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Longhorns are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win and 4-11 ATS in their last 15 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

This game has dropped to a pick em due to the injury to Ash. I still think the Longhorns are the better team and the help of the home crowd will lead them to a victory. Take the home team in this spot.
