The Wyoming Cowboys and War Memorial Stadium play host to the Air Force Falcons in week two.
Defense and the triple option were on full display in the Air Force Falcons 44-16 rout of Nicholls State in week one. The Colonels were held to only 263 yards and 3-12 on 3rd down conversions. On the flip side the Falcons rolled up 558 yards with the option producing an eye popping 539 yards with nearly a 7 1/2 yard average. The Falcons workhorse on the ground was Jacobi Owens who turned 23 touches in to 233 yards. Devin Rushing was next in line with 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns but as is typical with the triple option, 12 players receved a carry and two caught passes.

The Wyoming Cowboys opened the season with a tight 17-12 decision over the Montana Grizzlies. A 14-0 third quarter erased a 6-3 Grizzlies lead as both defenses were at the top of their respective games throughout. The Cowboys held a 301-253 advantage in total yardage and managed a 36 minute edge in time of possession. Cowboys quarterback Colby Kirkegaard completed 13-21 for 92 yards and a interception in a short passing attack that saw five players record catches. The Wyoming rushing attack was much more productive with Shaun Wick totaling 134 yards with a score while DJ May added another 96 yards including a 58 yard touchdown run.
Obviously the Falcons victory was more impressive then Wyoming's but that has soomething to do with the competition. These teams know each other well and right now I'm leaning to the Cowboys but check back later in the week...
