The Central Michigan Chippewas improved to 2-0 with a 38-17 thrashing of the Purdue Boilermakers. The Chippewas jumped to a 21-7 lead in to the half and were never challenged despite the total yardage being nearly dead even. The main difference was CMU led the turnover battle 3-1 with a 57 yard pick six by Brandon Greer. The Chips were efficient in the air with Cooper Rush completing 11-16 for 172 yards with two touchdowns including a 65 yard strike to Anthony Rice and an eleven yarder to Ben McCord. Thomas Rawls paced the Chips on the ground with 155 yards on 31 totes with a pair of scoring runs. The difference was Central Michigan made plays almost everytime the opportunity presented itself.
Ther is not a lot to go on from a Syracuse perspective but Villanova gave them all they could handle. Central Michigan knocked off mistake prone Purdue so take that for what it's worth. I just think these teams are closer then a touchdown apart...
