The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers look for a road win over the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders.
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers gave Illinois all they could handle before falling 42-34 in week two. This was sloppy but exciting with both teams turning to the pass more often then not. The Illini gained 520 yards but the Hilltoppers defense turned a fumble in to a touchdown while WKY totaled 400 yards with Brandon Doughty tossing a pick six and losing a fumble in their own endzone that Illinois turned in to six. Doughty did keep his team in the game with 297 passing yards and two touchdowns and the Hilltoppers were effective on the ground with Leon Allen posting 124 yards and a trip to the endzone but mistakes killed them.

The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders couldn't rebound from a slow start in dropping a 35-24 decision at Minnesota. The Golden Gophers led 28-0 at the half and even the Blue Raiders 445-351 advantage in yardage wasn't enough to make a full comeback on. Austin Grammer completed 22-38 for 255 yards but his three interceptions were killers for MTSU. Ed'Marques Batties paced the Blue Raiders receiving corps with 88 yards on seven catches while Reggie Whatley ran for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns with Jordan Parker adding another 68 yards on 13 carries. Middle Tennessee moved the ball well but were done in by miscues.
I think these teams are evenly matched so I wouldn't be shocked by who won. Right now I'm leaning Western Kentucky but I would like to see a total first because I believe there will be some scoring...
