The Old Dominion Monarchs welcome the Eastern Michigan Eagles to Foreman Field in week three action.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles look to bounce back from a 65-0 drubbing at the hands of Florida last week. This one was over at the opening kickoff with the Gators amassing 655 yards and leading 30-0 heading in to the locker room. The Eagles countered with 125 yards and just over 24 minutes in time of possession with only seven first downs. Four lost fumbles and a pick six only added to the frustration that had to grow with Florida throwing for touchdowns in the 4th despite a 51-0 lead. Brogan Boback went 5-10 for 29 yards in a limited air attack as Eastern Michigan tried to burn clock on the ground but Tyler Allen and his 20 yards on two totes was as good as it got.

The Old Dominion Monarchs had upset on their mind at North Carolina State but were outscored 46-34 in week two. Two things we know about this team is they can score and the opposition can as well which was obvious here. Both teams combined for nearly 1,000 yards with both being able to run and throw. ODU received 295 yards in the air from Taylor Heinicke with a pair of touchdowns and an interception with Zach Pascal and Antonio Vaughan hauling in 17 receptions for 169 yards. The Monarchs rushing attack often gets overlooked but it was productive with Ray Lawry going for 71 yards on 14 carries with three trips to the endzone while Gerard Johnson and Cam Boyd added 108 yards between them. The Wolfpack punted once so that describes the ODU defense.
We will see Old Dominion has any kind of defense here and if EMU scores with frequency I'd say the Monarchs have even bigger issues then I thought. Having said that, laying points sort of makes me sick and I would have to look at the TT over when it's released...
