The Line: Texas A&M Aggies -30 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Texas A&M Aggies and the Rice Owls face off on Saturday in an all Texas college football battle.
The Texas A&M Aggies are all of the talk in college football once again this season following their blowout win on opening night on the road at South Carolina. The Aggies went on to win again in week two over FCS Lamar but now it is back to business against FBS competition. QB Kenny Hill won the offseason battle for the starting spot over Kyle Allen but after seeing both Texas A&M is just loaded at QB. Trey Williams is the leading rusher with 132 yards and two touchdowns but this offense has no shortage of options with receivers Malocome Kennedy and Speedy Noil among others. The Texas A&M defense is improved but will remain a question mark for the time being but they have two interceptions, six sacks, and a fumble recovery. Howard Matthews has 10 tackles and Myles Garrett has three sacks to lead the Texas A&M defense. While this is a tougher test than Lamar, The Aggies are in a different league.

After losing badly at Notre Dame in week one this college football season, the Rice Owls are back on the field once again facing a ranked team. Rice just never got it going against the Irish and they are hoping to improve in College Station this week. QB Driphus Jackson completed just 54 of his passes at South Bend which doesn’t get it done and he also rushed it 11 times for 61 yards. Jowan Davis got 14 carries for the Owls but averaging just 2,4 yards per carry he wasn’t effective. Rice spread the ball around in the passing game with Dennis Parks catching three passes and Zach Wright catching a touchdown pass. The Rice defense had just one sack and one fumble recovery and to beat the better teams they will have to do more than that. Jaylon Finner, Gabe Baker, and Zach Pete each had six tackles but if Rice plays like they did in their first game the defense will be spending plenty of time on the field.
Texas A&M is 6-0 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 8-1 against the spread against CUSA, and 2-5 against the spread following a win. Rice is 1-4 against the spread against the SEC, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and 7-3 against the spread against a team with a winnign record.
31 points seems to be a big number but for an offense as high powered as Texas A&M it is very doable and I look for Rice to just not be able to keep up.
