The Texas State Bobcats go on the road to take the field with the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
The Texas State Bobcats had an opportunity to pull off one of the biggest wins of their program but it was not to be in a 42-35 defeat at Illinois. Both teams finished with around 480 yards but balance won out over air power as Illinois could do a bit of everything while the Bobcats relied on the passing of Tyler Jones who didn't disappoint with 336 yards and four touchdowns but his lone interception was turned in to a pick six. Robert Lowe did give the Bobcats 117 yards on the ground to keep the Illini defense honest but this one was about getting a few defensive stops which didn't happen.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane have had a week off to dwell on their 50-21 road loss at Florida Atlantic. Mistakes and defensive lapses were costly as Tulsa was outgained 518-363 and gave the ball away three times. The Golden Hurricane had some success on the ground behind a combined 96 yards from James Flanders and Zack Langer but given the situation on the scoreboard Tulsa was forced to the air more often then not. Dane Evans completed 24-49 for 264 yards with a touchdown but two interceptions took the luster off of a decent performance. Joshua Atkinson led Tulsa with 85 yards on seven receptions but the offense struggled for consistency and FAU could not be slowed.
The Bobcats lost a tough one a week ago and might have a bit of a letdown while the Golden Hurricane have had a week off to prepare. Everything is pointing to Tulsa here but I'm not...
