The Navy Midshipmen look to break in to the win column when they visit the Air Force Falcons.
The Navy Midshipmen have dropped back to back contests following a 36-27 defeat at the hands of Western Kentucky. From what I have seen from the Middies, neither their option or defense has been overly impressive. The defense certainly didn't prove me wrong with the Hilltoppers totaling 551 yards. The option was impressive with 412 rushing yards and eight yard average but they still couldn't find the endzone enough. A pick six capped off an awful passing effort from Keenan Reynolds even by Navy standards with a 3-14 night producing 55 yards. Reynolds led the Middies on the ground with 121 yards and two scores with Noah Copeland adding another 104 yards and a TD but in the end WKY and Brandon Doughty's 387 yards passing was too much.

The Air Force Falcons improved to 3-1 in 2014 with an easy 28-14 victory over Mountain West rival Boise State. The Falcons defense gave up 467 yards but they had a field day in the turnover department with five interceptions and a pair of fumble recoveries. That made their 335 yards of offense more then enough as the AFA built a 28-0 lead and let the Broncos self destruct as a nearly two touchdown favorite. Kale Pearson connected on 5-11 passes for 48 yards with a four yard touchdown to Garrett Brown but the Falcons stuck mostly to their ground attack. Pearson and Jacobi Owens were the workhorses with a combined 235 yards on 44 carries with each finding the endzone.
Navy was touted as a possible ten win team before the season began but I don't think they are finishing drives and the defense needs points to survive. This looks like a must win game here and I hope the Middies get it but I'm not getting my hopes up...
