The Akron Zips look for back to back victories when the Eastern Michigan Eagles take the field Saturday.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles struggled on both sides of the ball in a 73-14 loss at the hands of Michigan State for their third straight loss. This one was over quickly with the Spartans up 49-0 heading to the locker room on the way to almost 500 yards. On the flip side the Eagles managed 135 yards and five first downs with five lost fumbles and an interception only adding to the struggles. EMU had no rushing attack with under 25 yards while Rob Bolden completed 10-29 for 115 yards with nine yard and 43 yard touchdowns to Tyreese Russell and Tyler Allen.

The Akron Zips evened their record at 2-2 with a 21-10 road win versus Pittsburgh as a three touchdown underdog. The Zips held a 382-349 yardage edge with a little more running ability behind Conor Hundley's 19 carry, 148 yard performance. Kyle Pohl connected on 15-29 throws for 193 yards with a 52 yard scoring strike to Mykel Traylor-Bennett. The defense deserved much of the credit here with the Panthers held to 5-16 on third down conversions while throwing an interception. Pitt also put the ball on the ground three times and lost one fumble in anotherwise plain vanilla performance from both offenses.
It seems like a good letdown spot for Akron which means backing the Eagles with three touchdowns. My problem is backing a struggling EMU squad or Akron who hasn't been consistent and I don't like either option...
