The Wake Forest Demon Deacons travel to Florida State to play the Seminoles on Saturday afternoon.
Wake Forest dropped to 2-3 on the year after losing at Louisville 20-10 last Saturday. The Demon Deacons only two wins have come against Gardner-Webb and Army, while they have lost to UL Monroe and Utah State. Against the Cardinals, Wake Forest only gained 100 total yards, turned the ball over three times, and converted 2 of 16 3rd downs. The Demon Deacons were flat out awful on offense as QB John Wolford completed 19 of 34 passes for 122 yards and 3 interceptions. Wake Forest rushed for -22 yards as a team and only picked up 7 1st downs in the loss. The Demon Deacons defense allowed 421 total yards but they forced 3 turnovers. The Demon Deacons defense has played well overall this season, giving up an average of 20.2 points per game, which ranks 34th in the country. However, the Demon Deacons offense is only averaging 18.2 points per game, which ranks 116th in the country. Wake Forest will now head out on the road again to face the #1 team in the nation.

The Florida State Seminoles improved to 4-0 on the season after beating North Carolina State 56-41 last weekend. The Seminoles have defeated Oklahoma State, Citadel, and Clemson before the win this past Saturday. Against the Wolfpack, Jameis Winston returned and directed four straight second-half touchdown drives to rally past NC State. The Seminoles gained 531 total yards but turned the ball over 4 times. Winston completed 26 of 38 passes for 365 yards with 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. RB Karlos Williams carried the ball 21 times for 126 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Seminoles defense allowed 520 total yards and forced two turnovers in the win. Florida State ranks 15th in passing yards this year at over 330 yards per game, while their rushing attack ranks 103rd in the country at 123.8 rushing yards per game. The Seminoles have not looked as good as the championship team last year, but they should have no problem handling their business at home this weekend.
This game is going to get ugly early as Florida State should dominate the Demon Deacons on both sides of the ball. Florida State’s defense hasn’t looked great this season but they will have no problem shutting the Wake Forest offense down on Saturday. Meanwhile, Winston and the Florida State offense will score at least 45 points. The spread is over 5 touchdowns and I would not recommend laying that number even though the Seminoles have a good chance at covering it. However, I do recommend jumping on the Florida State first half line if it’s 24 points or lower.
