Joe Aillet Stadium and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs play host to the Texas El PPaso Miners in week six action.
The Texas El Paso Miners have an improved look to them although we probably won't know enough about them until they hit the meat of their CUSA schedule. Having said that, Kansas State was too much to handle in a 58-28 defeat with the Wildcats racking up 451 yards and holding a 45-0 lead at one point. UTEP was desperate for a viable rushing attack to milk the clock and limit Kansas State possessions but less then 70 yards didn't get the job done. Jamaill Showers gave the Miners 201 passing yards and four touchdowns but most came late when things were decided. Ian Hamilton was the top receiver with five catches for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs took one on the chin in a 45-17 loss at Auburn as a 33 point underdog. The Bulldogs fought the good fight but were outmanned in most areas with the Tigers having too much firepower. Auburn ran the ball well and picked their spots in the air while LaTech struggled to establish the run. Jarred Craft was the only runner of note with 41 yards on nine carries which put the load of moving the chains on the right arm of Cody Sokol who connected on 20-35 for 216 yards for 216 yards with an interception. Trent Taylor grabbed eight balls for eighty yards but Louisiana Tech did most of their damage late when the outcome was decided.
Going against Texas El Paso is a chancey because the Miners have looked better but I'm going with a La Tech squad who I think is even more improved...
