The Iowa State Cyclones and Oklahoma State Cowboys will play Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium.
The Iowa State Cyclones have gotten off to a brutal start this season and aren’t going to turn things around until their offense improves. Sam B. Richardson is completing 68 percent of his passes and is also tied as the Cyclones leading rusher with 119 yards. In four games, Iowa State has just two rushing plays that have produced more than 20 yards and they’re averaging just 3.4 yards per carry as a team. Iowa State is desperate for an offensive playmaker to lead this team and get things going, but that person simply hasn’t come in the first month of the season. Freshman Allen Lazard is averaging a solid 15.8 yards per catch, but he’s been held to three or less catches in three of the four games this season. Simply put, it’s going to be tough for ISU to win games as long as it’s ranked 102nd in the country in points scored. Defensively, the Iowa State Cyclones are allowing 463.3 yards per game and have forced three turnovers and seven sacks. Jevohn Miller leads Iowa State with 46 tackles and Cory Morrissey has five tackles for loss.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have been on fire since their opening week loss to Florida State, scoring no less than 40 points. Desmond Roland has scored at least one touchdown in every game he’s played, and Oklahoma State is averaging 4.1 yards per carry. Daxx Garman is still struggling a bit with accuracy issues, but he has thrown eight touchdowns in three games and has taken care of the football for the most part. Oklahoma State has six different players with more than 100 receiving yards and it seems like it’s a different guy taking over each game. Right now Marcell Ateman leads the Cowboys with 204 receiving yards. With or without J.W. Walsh, Oklahoma State’s offense is in good hands. Defensively, the Oklahoma State Cowboys are allowing 390.5 yards per game and have forced six turnovers and 13 sacks. Ryan Simmons leads OK State with 31 tackles and Jimmy Bean has 3.5 sacks.
The Cyclones are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 conference games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Cowboys are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 home games and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 conference games. The Cyclones are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Oklahoma State, while the favorite is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 meetings.
With this game being played in Stillwater, it's tough seeing Iowa State keeping up. The Cyclones have allowed more than 30 points in three of their first four games and it shouldn't be any different in this contest. Oklahoma State is a well oiled machine and should handle Iowa State with ease like they have the last two years. Give me the Cowboys by three touchdowns.
