The Louisville Cardinals travel to Clemson to play the Tigers on Saturday afternoon.
The Louisville Cardinals improved to 5-1 on the season after beating Syracuse 28-6 last week on the road. The Cardinals beat Miami and Murray State to begin the season before losing their first game of the year at Virginia. Louisville then beat FIU and Wake Forest before knocking off Syracuse. The Cardinals moved to 4-0 against Syarcuse under head coach Bobby Petrino. Louisville produced 352 total yards against Syracuse last week, but turned the ball over twice. QB Reggie Bonnafon completed 12 of 22 passes for 174 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. WR Matt Milton caught 2 balls for 51 yards. RB Brandon Radcliff played outstanding, rushing for 110 yards on 23 carries with 2 touchdowns. Louisville played great defense against a Syracuse team that loves to run the ball. The Cardinals defense is allowing just 12.7 points per game, which ranks an impressive 6th in the country. Louisville is leading the nation in rush defense, allowing only 58.2 rushing yards per game. The Cardinal defense will have to remain strong to earn a big win on the road this weekend.

The Clemson Tigers improved to 3-2 on the year after beating North Carolina State 41-0 last weekend. The Tigers have lost to Georgia and Florida State, while beating S. Carolina State, North Carolina, and now the Wolfpack. Clemson destroyed NC State, outgaining the Wolfpack 493 to 154 in total yards. The Tigers forced three turnovers and converted 12 of 19 3rd downs. QB Deshaun Watson completed 17 of 29 passes for 267 yards and 2 touchdowns. Watson also rushed for a team high 62 yards on 15 carries with 2 more touchdowns. WR Mike Williams caught 6 balls for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns. On the year, Clemson is averaging 40.4 points per game, which ranks 19th in the country. The Clemson defense played outstanding as they shutout the Wolfpack offense. The Tigers DE Vic Beasley tied the school mark with his 28th career sack as Clemson forced three fumbles in the win. The Clemson defense is allowing 22 points a game on average, which ranks 47th in the country.
This should be one of the better matchups of the weekend and a huge game for the ACC. Louisville is making a trip to Death Valley and it will be interesting to see how the Cardinals handle the crazy atmosphere. The Cardinals have been playing great defense, but they face a Clemson team led by Watson that can score in a variety of ways. I believe Clemson will get the win at home, but I think this game will be close, so I’ll side with the road dog.
