The Idaho Vandals travel to Paulson Stadium to face the rushing attack of the Georgia Southern Eagles.
The Georgia Southern Eagles won number three in a row by a 36-28 count over New Mexico State. The Eagles were 17 point favorites but only played well in the first and 4th quarters with the Aggies dominating the 2nd and 3rd. NMSU led 517-423 in yardage with some balance while GSU amassed 423 rushing yards and averaged over 6 1/2 yards per touch. Kevin Ellison had a dismal effort in the air with a 3-13 game for 18 yards but he redeemed himself on the ground and gave the Eagles 145 yards and two touchdowns while LA Ramsby added 136 yards and a score with Matt Breida contributing 96 more yards.

The Idaho Vandals dropped to 0-5 on the season following a 35-30 loss at Texas State in week six. The Vandals held the Bobcats to 466 yards but were tagged with a pair of 70 yard scoring runs. The team trailed 21-3 at the break and gained most of their 523 yards in a spitited second half rally that ultimately ran out of time. The pass first Vandals received 347 yards from Matt Lineham and a pair of interceptions with Joshua McCain hauling in nine throws for 125 yards. The Idaho ground game provided some punch behind 143 combined yards from Kristoffer Olugbode and Aaron Duckworth who also scored. The bottom line was a poor first half on both sides of the ball cost Idaho in what could have been a winnable game.
Idaho was really hit hard on the ground versus Texas State and running the ball is all Georgia Southern does. Right now I'll back the Eagles and watch the line as this pick isn't etched in stone so please check back by Friday with any updates...
