Dix Stadium and the Kent State Golden Flashes host the Massachusetts Minutemen in week seven action.
The Massachusetts Minutemen remained without a win following a 42-41 loss at Miami (Ohio) to fall to 0-6. The Minutemen led by as much as 41-14 but did not score over the final 30 minutes while the Redhawks closed the game on a 21-0 run. Both teams totaled over 550 yards with UMass doing the damage early and Miami (Ohio) getting it done late. Shadrich Abrokwah have the Minutemen 128 yards on 25 carries with six yard TD run but the air is where this team prospered. Blake Frohnapfel threw for 389 yards with four touchdowns and a pair of picks with Tajae Sharpe leading the UMass receiving corps on 154 yards on nine catches.

The Kent State Golden Flashes weren't given much of a chance on the road at MAC power Northern Illinois but they came up with their best effort of the season in a 17-14 defeat. The Huskies led the yardage battle 379-327 but were one dimensional without a consistent ground game to lean on. The Golden Flashes totaled less then 85 rushing yards and barely averaged two yards per touch which put the job of moving the chains squarely oon the right arm of quarterback Colin Reardon. Reardon connected on 20-36 for 244 yards with seven players making receptions in a decent performance considering he was the focus of the NIU defense.
Both teams are a combined 0-11 and this could be the last chance either have a shot at winning. I won't pay to see it however and advise people to look elsewhere...
