The Missouri Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs face off on Saturday in a SEC college football matchup.
The Missouri Tigers are coming off of a bye week and when we last saw them they were in South Carolina handing the Gamecocks a loss that avenged their only regular season loss last year. Missouri hasn’t lost in the SEC this season as their only loss was in their last home game, an upset loss to Indiana. The Mizzou offense is averaging 34.6 points per game with QB Maty Mauk completing 56 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. Russell Hansbrough leads the MU ground attack averaging 6.3 yards per carry with six touchdowns and Bud Sasser leads the receivers with 30 catches with four touchdowns. The Missouri defense allows 20.6 points per game with five interceptions, 18 sacks, and four fumble recoveries. Michael Scherer has 50 tackles, Kentrell Brothers has 39 tackles, and Shane Ray has eight sacks. Missouri has lost just one conference regular season game over the past two seasons.

The Georgia Bulldogs are off to a 4-1 start to the season and they are hoping they can get back into the playoff picture by racking up more wins. Georgia is coming off of a home SEC win against Vandy last week for their third consecutive win. Georgia’s offense is averaging 45 points per game with QB Hutson Mason completing 68.3 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and three interceptions. The Georgia offense revolves around running back Todd Gurley who is the best in the nation averaging 8.2 yards per carry with eight touchdowns. Michael Bennett is UGA’s leading receiver with 14 catches followed by Chris Conley has 13 catches. The Georgia defense is allowing 21.6 points per game with four interceptions, 12 sacks, and four fumble recoveries. Amarlo Herrera leads the Dawgs defense with 43 tackles, Ramik Wilson has 37 tackles, and Jordan Jenkins has 28 tackles. This is a stiff test for Georgia whose lone loss came on the road.
Missouri is 5-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 10-3-1 against the spread following a win, and 7-3-1 against the spread in their last 11 home games. Georgia is 4-11-1 against the spread in their last 16 games, 1-7-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-9-1 against the spread following a win.
Missouri laid an egg against Indiana but don’t expect that to happen here as they have what it takes to stand up to Georgia and I look for Missouri to win outright.
