The Florida State Seminoles travel to Syracuse to play the Orange on Saturday afternoon.
Florida State improved to 5-0 on the season after beating Wake Forest at home 43-3 last weekend. The Seminoles have not looked as sharp as they did last year early on this season but they have found a way to win games and remain undefeated. The Seminoles have knocked off the likes of Oklahoma State, Clemson, and North Carolina State so far this season. Against Wake Forest, Florida State held only a 10-point lead at halftime, but they shut out the Demon Deacons and scored 30 unanswered points in the second half. The Seminoles out gained Wake Forest 475 to 126 in total yards. Jameis Winston completed 23 of 39 passes for 297 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. WR Ermon Lane caught 2 balls for 70 yards, while RB Mario Pender rushed 5 times for 70 yards and a touchdown. The Seminoles converted 10 of 18 on 3rd down and forced three turnovers against Wake Forest. Florida State will look to keep things rolling as they play their second true road game of the season this weekend.

The Syracuse Orange dropped to 2-3 on the season after losing to Louisville at home 28-6 on Friday night. Syracuse has looked awful since starting out the year 2-0. The Orange have dropped three straight to Maryland, Notre Dame, and now Louisville. The Orange offense is averaging only 21.6 points per game, which ranks 107th in the country. The Syracuse offense produced only 255 total yards against the Cardinals defense and only 59 yards on the ground. QB Terrel Hunt completed 17 of 32 passes for 196 yards and 2 interceptions. WR Jarrod West had the best offensive performance with 5 catches for 80 yards for Syracuse. The Orange defense kept them in the game, holding Louisville to only 12 first half points and forcing 2 turnovers in the loss. The season doesn’t get any easier for Syracuse as they host the #1 team in the country this week and then head out on the road for back-to-back conference games.
This game should get ugly quick, as Syracuse will be overmatched on both sides of the ball. As long as Florida State comes out focused and doesn’t take Syracuse lightly, they should have no problem winning this game by 30 plus points.
