The Old Dominion Monarchs travel west to take the field with the Texas El Paso Miners.
The Old Dominion Monarchs fell to 3-3 on the season following a one sided 56-14 loss to visiting Marshall. The Thundering Herd bolted to a 35-7 lead after 30 minutes on the way to nearly 600 yards despite three turnovers. The normally potent attack of the Monarchs mustered just 286 yards with 15 first downs and a 5-16 performance on third down. Taylor Heinicke struggled through a 10-25 effort for 85 passing yards with a 21 yard scoring strike to Zach Pascal while tossing a pick. ODU did run the ball well behind Ray Lawry's 131 yard effort which included a 27 yard scoring run while Gerard Johnson added 76 yards.

The Texas El Paso Miners look to snap a two game skid after a 55-3 week six loss at Louisiana Tech. While the Bulldogs had some balance with their 443 yards the Miners were mistake prone with five turnovers and didn't stand out in any one area with 224 yards and 12 first downs to their credit. Aaron Jones was the rushing attack with 63 yards but it took him 18 carries. Jameill Showers couldn't get the Miners going through the air either with a 15-28 performance producing 143 yards and a disasterous three interceptions. Throw in a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown and UTEP struggled in most areas.
Old Dominion doesn't have a strong enough defense to have confidence in them on the road. I'll take the points but need more to bet this but check back Friday...
