The Florida International Golden Panthers invade the Alamodome to face the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners.
The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners were not at the top of their game in a 21-9 home loss to New Mexico as a 17 point favorite. The Roadrunners led 9-0 in the third quarter before the Lobos scored the final 21 points. UNM won the yardage battle 379-341 with a pounding rushing attack that accumulated 283 yards. Jarveon Williams was the only UTSA runner of note with 95 yards on nine carries with a six yard scoring run. Blake Bogenschutz connected on 10-16 for 169 yards and a pick with Tucker Carter hitting 4-8 for 60 yards and an interception but the the offense never found the groove.

The Florida International Golden Panthers have not looked good on the offensive side of the football but did just enough in a 38-10 victory over conference and instate rival Florida Atlantic. The defense first Golden Panthers did their job by holding the Owls to 383 yards with Richard Leonard returning a fumble 100 yards for a touchdown. Alex McGough paced a short FIU passing attack with 160 yards with seven players recording catches while using his legs for another 28 yards and a score. Alex Gardner led the Golden Panthers on the ground with 100 yards on 21 totes with a TD while Anthon Samuel totaled 57 yards with a pair of trips to the endzone.
A few weeks ago and I would have said Texas-San Antonio names the score here but FIU has shown some life. The defense has to still help a suspect offense but I'll take my chances with two touchdowns...
