The Fresno State Bulldogs and Boise State Broncos play Friday night at Bronco Stadium.
The Fresno State Bulldogs have won three of their last four games but three of their four losses have come on the road. Fresno State relies heavily on its offense that has produced 24 or more points in five of its last six games. Brian Burrell is completing 56.9 percent of his passes for 11 touchdowns and six interceptions, and he’s coming off a three-touchdown performance. Burrell also has 238 rushing yards and two scores. Marteze Waller is the workhorse for Fresno State, as he leads the Bulldogs with 661 rushing yards and has scored in three of his last four games. Josh Harper has 47 of Fresno State’s 161 receptions, and the Bulldogs are 11-3 SU in their last 14 games when he catches a touchdown pass. Defensively, the Fresno State Bulldogs allow 35.6 points, 469.9 yards, and they’ve forced nine turnovers and 15 sacks. Kyrie Wilson leads Fresno State with 56 tackles and Ejiro Ederaine has six tackles for loss.

The Boise State Broncos hope to remain undefeated at home and get one step closer towards a bowl appearance. Thanks to running back Jay Ajayi and quarterback Grant Hedrick, Boise State has found its offensive rhythm as the players have combined for more than 900 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. The running ability has opened up the pass, as Hedrick is completing 72.1 percent of his passes for seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. There is a cause for concern with five of those interceptions coming in Hedrick’s last two games. Shane Williams-Rhodes has caught a touchdown in back-to-back games and is the go-to guy with Matt Miller out for the season. Defensively, the Boise State Broncos are allowing 27.2 points, 374.7 yards, and they’ve forced 16 turnovers and 17 sacks. Tanner Vallejo leads Boise State with 38 tackles and Beau Martin has nine tackles for loss.
The Bulldogs are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 conference games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. The Broncos are 5-2 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Bulldogs are 1-12 ATS in their last 13 meetings.
I know that Boise State has owned Fresno State over the years, but this line may be a slight overreaction. Boise State hasn’t exactly been crushing teams this season and the Bulldogs have enough offensive firepower to at least hang around. I don’t love this matchup but if forced, I’d take the points.
