The Houston Cougars look to halt the surging Temple Owls when they pay a visit in week eight.
The Temple Owls improved to 4-1 with a 35-24 decision over visiting Tulsa in week seven action. The Owls certainly played well enough to win put they were never able to put the pesky Golden Hurricane away. The offense approached nearly 500 yards with plenty of balance PJ Walker throwing for 295 yards with a pair of touchdowns an an interception with Jalen Fitzpatrick and Jamie Gilmore leading the Owls receiving corps with 207 yards on seven catches. Jahad Thomas churned out 151 yards on 14 carries including a 68 yard run as Temple had zero problem moving the ball. Tulsa didn't excel offensively but seemed to come up with a play everytime the Owls threatened to pull away.

The Houston Cougars finally looked like the team we saw in 2013 with a 28-24 victory over a much improved Memphis squad on the road in week seven. In a sloppy affair both teams finished in the 360 yards range with the Cougars winning the turnover battle 5-3. Greg Ward Jr. was adequate in the air with 168 yards on 14-25 with a 25 yard touchdown to Markeith Ambles along with an interception. Ward led the ground game with 95 yards with 64 yards coming on a 64 yard scoring burst while Kenneth Farrow added 64 yards on ten totes with a short touchdown run. A few big plays and Memphis mistakes made the Cougars winners in this.
Temple is vastly improved from past seasons while I don't think Houston has been consistent. After beating Memphis I'm thinking letdown and take the points...
