The Temple Owls head to the Sunshine State to take the field with the Central Florida Knights.
The Temple Owls saw an opportunity to win number four in a row quickly disappeared in a 31-10 road loss to Houston. The Owls were in this for 30 minutes before the Cougars defense put on the clamps in the second half. Houston won the yardage battle 439-357 which was even bigger a margin with the Owls turning the ball over four times including a pick six. Jahad Thomas and PJ Walker gave the Owls 98 rushing yards on 15 carries but once the Owls fell behind by double figures they turned to the passing attack which was mistake prone. Walker hit 12-29 for 259 yards with a 39 yard scoring strike to Keith Kirkwood but he also tossed three interceptions with one ending up in his own endzone. Once the second half began it was clear Houston had too much on both sides of the ball.

With Central Florida losing so much talent from a season ago the obvious expectations are this team is going to take a step back. That has happened but the Knights might be better then initially thought with their 20-13 decision over visiting Tulane in week eight which was their fourth consecutive victory. This was fairly ugly with the Green Wave leading 278-233 in yards while holding a 4-2 lead in turnovers. In essence Tulane played the type of game they needed to win and still loss. Central Florida struggled to run the ball wwith under 100 yards and a 2 1/2 yard average while Justin Holman completed 9-17 throws for 113 yards with a 45 yard touchdown to Breshad Perriman. In a nutshell the Knights made more of mistakes then Tulane and beat the Green Wave at their own game.
The Owls are 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. loss while going 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games. For Central Florida the over is 6-0 in Knights last 6 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game with the under going 5-0 in Knights last 5 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. The under is 5-0 in Knights last 5 conference games. Central Florida won this game as a 17 point favorite by a 39-36 count on the road in 2013 and I think they win again but I'll take the points still...
