The Florida State Seminoles and Louisville Cardinals meet Thursday at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in a huge ACC showdown.
This is probably the toughest remaining game on the schedule for the Florida State Seminoles, one of three remaining teams that’s undefeated. FSU is led by Jameis Winston, who is completing 70.6 percent of his passes for 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. In his last two games, Winston has five touchdowns and just one pick. Florida State has 16 passing plays of 25 or more yards and has won 25 straight games when passing for 250-plus yards. Rashad Greene and Jesus Wilson have combined for 77 receptions, more than 1,000 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Florida State’s running game is averaging four yards a carry and while leading rusher Karlos Williams has been dealing with off-the-field issues, he’s probable for this game. Williams and Dalvin Cook have combined for 10 rushing touchdowns. Defensively, the Florida State Seminoles are allowing 21.6 points, 374.4 yards, and they’ve forced 13 turnovers and 11 sacks. Terrance Smith leads Florida State with 60 tackles and Eddie Goldman has 5.5 tackles for loss.

The Louisville Cardinals have won 22 straight home games when Bobby Petrino is the head coach. Louisville has the best defense in the country, allowing 14.6 points, 245.8 yards, and they’ve forced 18 turnovers and 28 sacks. The Louisville Cardinals have allowed 24 or less points in 14 straight games. Keith Kelsey leads Louisville with 51 tackles and Lorenzo Mauldin has 11.5 tackles for loss. Offensively, Will Gardner is completing 57.3 percent of his passes for 11 touchdowns and two interceptions. Gardner has thrown three touchdowns and zero picks in his last two games. Louisville's offense received a major spark with the return of wide receiver DeVante Parker, who had 132 yards on nine catches in his first game back. James Quick leads the Cardinals with 451 receiving yards. Louisville's ground game is averaging 3.6 yards per carry and Brandon Radcliff and Dominique Brown have combined for 10 touchdowns.
The Seminoles are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Cardinals are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 conference games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Florida State could have easily lost two games already and has yet to play a true road game this season that will provide the type of atmosphere they’ll see here. With an insane environment and the best defense in the country, I think Louisville wins this game outright. However, just to be safe, take the points in what should be a nailbiter to the very end.
