The Kansas Jayhawks and Baylor Bears meet Saturday at McLane Stadium.

The Kansas Jayhawks have lost four straight are still looking for their first road win of the season. Kansas simply isn’t a good football team on either side of the ball, especially offense where a combination of Montell Cozart and Michael Cummings is completing 52.6 percent of its passes for seven touchdowns and nine interceptions. Kansas has 14 passing plays of 25 or more yards and has thrown for less than 250 yards in six of its seven games. Jimmay Mundine and Nick Harwell have combined for 50 of Kansas’ 113 receptions, more than 500 yards and three touchdowns. Two of Justin McCay’s nine catches have produced a touchdown. The Jayhawks ground game is averaging 3.6 yards per carry and Corey Avery leads the way with 417 rushing yards and three touchdowns, but Kansas is often trailing early which forces them to abandon a decent running attack. Defensively, the Kansas Jayhawks are allowing 28 points, 411.3 yards, and they’ve forced 14 turnovers and 11 sacks. Ben Heeney leads Kansas with 84 tackles and Michael Reynolds has 10.5 tackles for loss.

The Baylor Bears have had an extra week to recover from their loss to West Virginia and still have a chance to win the Big 12 if they can win out. Bryce Petty is completing 54.7 percent of his passes for 17 touchdowns and three interceptions. Petty has not completed more than 50.9 percent of his passes in three straight games, but has managed to toss 10 touchdowns and two picks in those contests. Baylor has 31 passing plays of 25 or more yards and is averaging close to 16 yards per catch. KD Cannon and Antwan Goodley have combined for more than 1,100 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, while Corey Coleman has caught at least one touchdown in four straight games. Baylor’s ground game is averaging 4.7 yards per carry, and Shock Linwood leads the way with 696 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. Defensively, the Baylor Bears are allowing 23 points, 325.3 yards, and they’ve forced 13 turnovers and 24 sacks. Bryce Hager leads Baylor with 55 tackles and Shawn Oakman has 10.5 tackles for loss.

The Jayhawks are 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 road games and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a bye week. The Bears are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a bye week and 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.

Usually I shy away from the massive chalk, but I can't make a case for why Kansas will keep this game close. This is a huge mismatch. Baylor wins in another blowout that will get ugly.
