The Bowling Green Falcons and Akron Zips play Tuesday night at InfoCision Stadium.
The Bowling Green Falcons have had time to think about their loss to Western Michigan and still control their destiny in the MAC East. James Knapke is completing 59.3 percent of his passes for 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Knapke, who has thrown at least one interception in every game this season, is probable for this matchup despite a ribs injury. Bowling Green has 20 passing plays of 25 or more yards and is averaging 11.1 yards per catch. Ronnie Moore and Roger Lewis have combined for close to 1,200 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. However, Moore is questionable with a foot injury, which puts pressure on Ryan Burbrink, who has two touchdowns in his last four games. The Bowling Green ground game is averaging 4.7 yards per carry, as Travis Greene and Fred Coppet have topped 1,000 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. Defensively, the Bowling Green Falcons are allowing 36.5 points, 543 yards, and they’ve forced 14 turnovers and 15 sacks. Gabe Martin leads Bowling Green with 71 tackles and Bryan Thomas has 3.5 sacks.

The Akron Zips look to snap their two-game losing streak and will likely get starting quarterback Kyle Pohl back on the field. Pohl has been the bread and butter for Akron this season, as he’s completing 56.7 percent of his passes for seven touchdowns and three interceptions. Because of Pohl, Akron has 14 passing plays of 25 or more yards and is averaging 10.8 yards per catch. Zach D'Orazio and L.T. Smith have combined for close to 800 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Anthony Ritossa has caught a touchdown in two of his last three games played. Akron is averaging 4.2 yards per carry, as Conor Hundley and Jawon Chisholm have scored six of the Zips 11 rushing touchdowns. Defensively, the Akron Zips are allowing 20.3 points, 360.4 yards, and they've forced 16 turnovers and 21 sacks. Jatavis Brown leads Akron with 62 tackles and Nordly Capi has four sacks.
The Falcons are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Zips are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Falcons are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 meetings in Akron and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 meetings overall.
Neither of these teams are all that great but there's one thing that we can go off of, and that's the fact the Falcons have owned this series over the years against the number. Bowling Green is the better coached team and will have its chances to win this outright. I'll take as many points as I can get in this one.
