The Line: Troy Trojans -7.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Troy Trojans collide with the Georgia State Panthers at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Sun Belt action.
The Georgia State Panthers shoot for their second victory of the season when they travel to Troy on Saturday. The Panthers suffered through their poorest performance of the season in a 44-0 defeat at a suddenly hot Appalachian State on Saturday. This was about as one sided as a college football game gets with the Mountaineers amassing 567 yards with 469 yards coming on the ground. On the flip side the Panthers mustered a mere 65 yards with five fumbles (two lost) and a pick with 21+ minutes in possession. Marcus Caffey was the GSU rushing attack with 36 yards on seven carries while quarterback Nick Arbuckle completed 8-17 for 47 yards with an interception. While some boxscores are misleading this one makes me wonder why Appalachian State didn't score more.

The Troy Trojans go in search of their second victory of 2014 when the pass heavy Georgia State Panthers pay a visit Saturday. The Trojans have been in struggle mode the entire season with three consecutive defeats following a 42-10 loss at Georgia Southern in week ten to fall to 1-8 on the year. GSU scored early and often on the strength of 461 yards behind a bruising ground game that piled up 421 yards while the Trojans offense generated 154 yards with only 13 passing yards on 4-11. Troy's strategy was to establish a viable rushing attack to keep the Georgia Southern offense on the sideline. That strategy did not work with Khary Franklin the only runner of note with with 62 yards on eight touches with a three yard scoring run.
The over is 4-0 in Panthers last 4 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game and is 5-0-1 in Panthers last 6 games after accumulating less than 275 total yards in their previous game while going 3-0-1 in Panthers last 4 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game. For Troy the under is 5-0 in Trojans last 5 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game with the over going 9-0 in Trojans last 9 vs. a team with a losing record while the Trojans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game. I think the winner of this game is nothing more then a coin flip but I have to take the points here...
