The Line: Southern Cal Trojans -14 -- Over/Under: 72 See the Latest Odds
The USC Trojans and the Cal Golden Bears face off on Thursday Night at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in a Pac-12 college football matchup.
The USC Trojans are coming off of a bye after slicing up Washington State in their last game. USC is 6-3 for the season and bowl eligible but it seems like no one is eliminated from a chance to play in the Pac-12 Title Game. The USC offense is averaging 34.9 points and 458.9 yards and they are guided by QB Cody Kessler who has completed 69.7 percent of his passes with 25 touchdowns and two interceptions. Javorious Allen has been one of the top running backs in the nation gaining 1,124 yards and scoring eight touchdowns and catching 28 passes while Nelson Agholor is the Trojans top receiver with 66 receptions and eight touchdowns. The Southern Cal defense allows 22.6 points and 398.2 yards per game with 17 takeaways and 20 sacks. Hayes Pullard has 68 tackles, Leonard Williams has 54 tackles including 4.5 sacks, and Anthiny Sarao has 54 tackles. USC lacks depth and a quality Head Coach or they could have seen much better results this season.

The Cal Golden Bears have had a nice bounce back season after a rough go of it last year and they are a win away from being bowl eligible. The California offense has been exciting to watch averaging 41.9 points and 509.1 yards per game and they are led by QB Jared Goff who has compelted 62.6 percent of his passes with 27 touchdowns and four interceptions. Daniel Lasco has done a nice job carrying the football gaining 796 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns and adding 27 catches out of the backfield Bryce Treggs leads the Cal receivers 40 catches and five touchdowns. The Golden Bears defense has struggled allowing 39.9 points and 525.9 yards per game with 13 takeaways and 12 sacks. Michael Barton has 60 tackles, Michael Lowe has 55 tackles, and Cameron Walker has 53 tackles. The Cal defense spends far too much time on the field to be effective.
USC is 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games, 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 pac-12 games, and 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 home games against a team with a winning road record. Cal is 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games, 8-18 against the spread in their last 26 games, and 6-15 against the spread in their last 21 Pac-12 games. The favorite has covered the point spread in the last five meetings of these two.
The number here is simply too big and while I can see a high scoring gam, over 10 touchdowns just looks to be too hogh so it is a lean to the under. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
