The Appalachian State Mountaineers looked dead in the water a few short weeks ago but they have suddenly begun to play well and have postseason aspirarations following three conscutive wins that was capped off by 31-29 victory over visiting Louisiana-Monroe in week eleven. This went back and forth for 60 minutes with Bentlee Critcher booting a 39 yard field goal with 29 seconds left to secure the win. The Arkansas State Red Wolves are staying in the Sun Belt converation but they must keep winning and hope for a little help. The Red Wolves certainly helped themselves Saturday aas they smacked around South Alabama for 60 minutes in a 45-10 rout where their 400 yards doubled up the Jaguars who lost a fumble and threw three interceptions with Artez Brown recording a 58 yard pick six. Quarterback Fredi Knighten was the offensive star with 186 passing yards with a two yard and 47 yard touchdown strikes to Warren Leapheart and Dijon Paschal. Knighten led the ground game with with 95 yards and a trip to the endzone with Michael Gordon totaling another 77 yards and a touchdown.
The over is 4-1 in Mountaineers last 5 games on fieldturf while the Mountaineers are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. For Arkansas State the over is 4-0 in Red Wolves last 4 conference games while the Red Wolves are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games with the over going 4-0 in Red Wolves last 4 games overall. I'm not getting a big gut feeling that says take one team or the other but I do know Appalachian State won't win and I also know I won't lay two touchdowns so I'll likely sit this out...
