Option attacks collide when the Georgia Suthern Eagles take the field at the Navy Midshipmen.
The Georgia Southern Eagles have the Sun Belt championship on their mind when they pay a visit to Navy in week 12. The Eagles have been a tough customer in their first season in the conference with seven consecutive victories following a 28-25 victory at Texas State Saturday. GSU led 28-10 at one point but this wasn' a typical Eagles performance as they were outgained 439-268 and received a 100 yard pick six from Matt Dobson but the offense didn't rack up the huge yardage we have been accustomed to seeing. GSU was still solid on the ground with 227 yards and over 5 1/2 yards per touch with Matt Breida leading the way with 120 yards and two scores on eleven carries while Kevin Ellison and LA Ramsby added 107 yards with Ellison throwing for 45 yards.

While many experts were thinking the Navy Midshipmen had a legitimate shot at double figures in the win column things haven't gone as planned for the Middies. Navy appeared to be getting things together with back to back wins before a 49-39 defeat at Notre Dame has the team staring at 4-5. The Fighting Irish ran and threw their way to 533 yards with the Middies countering with 454 yards behind a run heavy attack. Keenan Reynolds threw more then normal with a 6-15 effort for 118 yards with 12 yard and 26 yard touchdowns to Chris Swain and Thomas Wilson and an interception. Noah Copeland led Navy on the ground with 138 yards on 16 carries with Geoffrey Whiteside adding another 52 yards on five totes and a 13 yard scoring jaunt.
The Eagles are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games and are 7-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record while going 12-2 ATS in their last 14 games overall. For Navy the Midshipmen are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record with the under going 9-1 in Midshipmen last 10 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game and 6-1 in Midshipmen last 7 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. This one is simple; the better option attack is going to win. Picking the better option attack isn't that easy...
