The San Jose Spartans play host to the Hawaii Warriors in week 12 at Spartan Stadium.
The Hawaii Warriors have shown some improvement over the last few years although their record says there is a lot of room for further improvement. The Warriors have had problems offensively in 2014 and if the defense struggles then things can get out of hand. That was what we saw in a 49-22 defeat at Colorado State in week eleven with UH falling behind 28-8 at the half and never getting their feet under them. The Rams had too much firepower with 580 yards and plenty of balance while the Warriors were limited to 352 yards which wasn't enough especially with three turnovers. The Hawaii rushing attack was four yards per carry and Ikaika Woolsey struggled to a 16-47 effort in the air for 192 yards with a touchdown and a pair of INT's.

The San Jose State Spartans have a shot at a Bowl but they need to win out as they stand at 3-6 and are looking at a three game slide. The Spartans were given a better ten even chance at beating Fresno State on the road in week eleven but instead were hammered 38-24 as an early 14-7 lead turned in to a 28-14 deficit at the half. With both teams totaling around 440 yards the Bulldogs balance won out over the one dimensional Spartans wh could not run the ball. Throw in three turnovers and a blocked punt for a touchdown and San Jose State also made too many mistakes. Tyler Ervin was the rushing attack with a 51 yard scoring run but otherwise it was Joe Gray's passing that carried the offense. Gray completed 26-44 for 350 yards with a pair of touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Warriors are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a SU loss of more than 20 points and are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 road games while going 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 conference games. For San Jose State the over is 4-0 in Spartans last 4 games overall and is 4-0 in Spartans last 4 games in November while the Spartans are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. Head to head the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings. I would think San Jose State would play with some desperation with their postseason hopes on the line and that's what I base this pick on...
