The North Texas Mean Green battles instate rival the Texas El Paso Miners at Sun Bowl Stadium.
The North Texas Mean Green have generally struggled in 2014 yet they still have a chance at a Bowl invitation if they can win out. The Mean Green look for consecutive victories at Texas El Paso after dominating visiting Florida Atlantic by a 31-10 count which put an end to a four game slide where neither side of the ball stood out. The Mean Green led 21-3 at the half and were never challenged. The UNT defense was dominant with 197 yards and 12 first downs allowed with a fumble recovery and interception. North Texas totaled 342 yards behind a strong rushing attack. Andrew McNulty completed 12-16 for 107 yards with a TD and pick but the ground game was where the offense had success with Antoinne Jimmerson gaining 111 yards with a 41 yard TD while Reggie Pegram added another 89 yards.

The Texas El Paso Miners could have virtually wrapped up a spot in the postseason with a win at Western Kentucky but that didn't happen and the Miners need to finish the season strong beginning with North Texas in week 12. A 35-27 loss to the Hilltoppers saw WKY score the final 14 points of the game with seven coming on a 90 yard pick six which was a 14 point swing. Both teams totaled around 390 yards with Western Kentucky dominating the air with over 300 passing yards while the Miners were most successful on the ground. Jameill Showers completed 9-22 for 158 yards and the pick six while Josh Bell, Nathan Jeffery and David Hamm combining for 185 yards. Leading rusher Aaron Jones did not play because of a knee injury.
The Mean Green are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and the over is 5-1 in Mean Green last 6 road games and 5-1 in Mean Green last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. For Texas El Paso the Miners are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games on turf and the over is 4-0 in Miners last 4 games following a S.U. loss while the Miners are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games. I initially liked Texas El Paso but with Aaron Jones and his knee being a question I am not real confident. If Jones is 100% I like UTEP but otherwise I'll look elsewhere...
