The Memphis Tigers take the field with the Tulane Green Wave at Yulman Stadium in week 12.
The Memphis Tigers have been one of the more improved teams in 2014 although they have gone through periods where they looked ordinary. The Tigers were in a battle at Temple in week eleven before squeezing out a 16-13 victory with Jake Elliott's31 yard field goal with no time left giving the visitors three wins in a row and has the team looking at a Bowl for the first time in what seems to be forever. The Tigers totaled just 312 yards with a lot of short passes and even shorter runs. Brandon Hayes ran for 75 yards on 26 carries while Paxton Lynch connected on 21-28 for 230 yards with Hayes snagging a 17 yard touchdown pass. Mose Frazier was the receiver of choice with eight catches for 110 yards.

The Tulane Green Wave have taken a step or so back from a season ago and each week they have taken the field I always say the uglier they can make the game the better their chances of winning. A 31-24 victory over Houston was far more scoring then one would expect to see from the Green Wave but it was more a factor of the defense bending but not breaking and taking advantage of Cougars miscues. Houston turned the ball over three times which partially negated their 441 yards and boosted Tulane's 361 yards. Dontrell Hilliard was the biggest source of rushing yards with 85 yards on 25 touches and a trip to the endzone. Tanner Lee enjoyed a strong performance in the air by connecting on 24-35 for 237 yards and three touchdowns with Hilliard hauling in five balls for 107 yards and a score.
The Memphis Tigers are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. win and the over is 5-0 in Tigers last 5 vs. a team with a losing record while the Tigers are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. For Tulane the Green Wave are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games in November and the over is 5-0 in Green Wave last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record while the Green Wave are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game. Head to head the Tigers are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 meetings and the favorite is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings. I think too many people are on the Memphis bandwagon which is never a good thing. For now I'll back them but I'll keep looking at it so check back Friday...
