Purdue vs. Northwestern - 11/22/14 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Purdue Boilermakers have lost four straight and are looking for their first home win since Sept. 20th. Austin Appleby is completing 52.4 percent of his passes for eight touchdowns and six interceptions. Appleby has three touchdowns and two picks in his last two games, and Purdue has 16 passing plays of 25 or more yards. Danny Anthrop and Akeem Hunt have combined for close to 900 receiving yards and five touchdowns, while Cameron Posey has four of his 12 catches in his last two games. Purdue’s ground game is averaging 4.8 yards per carry, as Akeem Hunt leads the way with 718 yards and five touchdowns. Purdue has won four of its last six games when rushing for at least two touchdowns. Defensively, the Purdue Boilermakers are allowing 31.9 points, 422 yards, and they’ve forced 17 sacks and 15 turnovers. Landon Feichter leads Purdue with 87 tackles and Jake Replogle has eight tackles for loss.

The Wildcats are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 conference games and 5-15 ATS in their last 20 games overall. The Boilermakers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The road team is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 meetings.

Both of these teams are at the bottom of the pack in the Big Ten and this game could really go either way. However, the Northwestern Wildcas have more to play for with a possible bowl game still in reach. Purdue, well, it's a team already looking ahead to next season. Give me the Wildcats by a field goal.
