The UCLA Bruins and the USC Trojans face off on Saturday in the Rose Bowl in a Pac-12 rivalry matchup.
The UCLA Bruins are coming off of a bye week but they are riding a four game winning streak. The UCLA offense is averaging 34.7 points and 489.2 yards per game and they are led by QB Brett Hundley who has completed 72.1 percent of his passes with 17 touchdowns and four interceptions and he has rushed for 564 yards and seven touchdowns. Paul Perkins leads the Bruins ground attack with 1172 yards and six touchdowns and Jordan Payton is UCLA’s leading receiver with 58 receptions and seven touchdowns. The UCLA defense allows 27.9 points and 410 yards per game with 12 takeaways and 16 sacks. Eric Kendricks has 114 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions, Myles jack has 69 tackles, and Deon Hollins has five sacks. UCLA has just two losses and could be in position for a nice bowl bid.

The USC Trojans have won their last two games but with three losses on the season a fourth would be devastating to their bowl positioning. The USC offense is averaging 35.2 points and 458 yards per game and are led by QB Cody Kessler who has quietly completed 70.2 percent of his passes with 29 touchdowns and three interceptions. Javorius Allen has rushed for 1,184 yards and eight touchdowns to lead the Trojans and Nelson Agholor has 82 receptions and 10 receiving touchdowns to lead Southern Cal. The USC defense allows 23.3 points and 396.8 yards per game creating 18 turnovers and sacking opposing QB’s 24 times. Hayes Pullard has 75 tackles, Leonard Williams has 62 tackles and 6.0 sacks, and Anthony Sarao has 62 tackles. USC has high level talent just are held back by poor Head Coaching.
UCLA is 7-3 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games, and 4-0 against the spread following a bye week. USC is 4-0 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, 5-13 against the spread in their last 18 road games, and 1-4 against the spread following a win. The home team has covered the point spread in eight of the last 11 meetings of these two.
USC is the better team as far as top tier talent with a huge edge to UCLA in the head Coaching department but in this one look for talent and heart to win out and I the play is USC with the points.
