The Pittsburgh Panthers travel to Miami to play the Hurricanes on Saturday night at Sun Life Stadium.
The Pittsburgh Panthers improved to 5-6, 3-4 ACC with a win over Syracuse 30-7 last weekend. The Panthers snapped a three game losing streak with the win, having lost to Georgia Tech, Duke, and North Carolina over the past month. On the season, the Pittsburgh offense is averaging 31.4 points per game, which ranks a decent 52nd in the country. QB Chad Voytik has completed over 62% of his passes for 1,877 yards with 14 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. WR Tyler Boyd is an NFL caliber player, hauling in a team best 64 balls for 1,077 yards with 7 touchdowns this season for Pittsburgh. RB James Conner also has NFL talent and has rushed for 1,600 yards and a whopping 22 touchdowns this season. The Panthers defense is allowing 25.8 points per game, which ranks in the middle amongst FBS schools this season. The Panthers will look to become bowl eligible with a win over Miami. The Panthers will head out on the road where they are 2-2 this season.

The Miami Hurricanes dropped to 6-5, 3-4 ACC after losing at Virginia 30-13 on Saturday night. The Hurricanes have now lost two straight games after winning three straight over Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina. Miami blew a 13-point lead over Florida State two weeks ago and the team was definitely still hung over from that loss against Virginia this past weekend. Statistically on the season, the Hurricanes defense is allowing 23.4 points per game, which ranks in the top 40 in the nation. The Miami offense is averaging 30.5 points per game, which ranks 55th in the country. QB Brad Kaaya has thrown for 2,666 yards with 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this season. WR Phillip Dorsett has caught 26 balls for a team-high 723 yards and 8 touchdowns for the Hurricanes. RB Duke Johnson is an NFL caliber player who has rushed for over 1,400 yards with 10 touchdowns this season. The Hurricanes are bowl eligible already but would like another win to earn a spot in a bigger and better bowl game. Miami will be at home for the final time this season; the Hurricanes are 5-1 at home this season.
Miami beat Pittsburgh on the road 41-31 last season. The combination of Boyd and Conner should have put Pittsburgh in a great position to win games this season, but the defense has struggled and regressed as the season has gone on. Conner is questionable for this game and that would be a huge hit for the Panthers. Meanwhile, Miami is coming off an ugly loss at Virginia after they lost to Florida State the week before, a game that you could argue they should have won. Both of these teams can score and score quickly, so I see this being a high scoring affair. At the end of the night, Miami will have scored more and will bounce back after two straight losses.
