The Line: Oregon State Beavers +17.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Oregon State Beavers and the Oregon Ducks face off on Saturday in Corvallis for the Platypus Trophy in a rivalry game called The Civil War.
The Oregon State Beavers are 5-6 this season meaning they need a win in this one to be bowl eligible. The Oregon State offense is averaging 26.3 points and 396.4 yards per game and they re led by QB Sean Mannion who has completed 63.5 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Terron Ward has 696 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns and Storm Woods has rushed for 638 yards while Victor Bolen is OSU’s leading receiver with 68 receptions. The Oregon State defense allows 30.2 points and 391.8 yards per game with 17 takeaways and 25 sacks. TY Zimmerman has 83 tackles, D.J. Alexander has 63 tackles, and Michael Doctor has 62 tackles. A win here and beating Oregon would mean much more than the bowl eligibility to the Beavers.

The Oregon Ducks have just one loss this season and are already in the Pac-12 Championship game but they need to win out and they will be in the college football playoffs. The Oregon offense is averaging 45.8 points per game and 537.2 yards per game and they are led by QB Marcus Mariota who get s my vote for the Heisman Trophy as he has completed 68 percent of his passes with 32 touchdowns and two interceptions and 597 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. Royce Freeman leads the Oregon ground attack with 1,050 yards and 16 touchdowns and Byron Marshall has 50 receptions. The Oregon defense allows 23.6 points and 435.7 yards per game with 22 takeaways and 28 sacks. Erick Dargan has 77 tackles, Joe Walker has 67 tackles, and Derrick Malone has 66 tackles. Oregon has been one of the better teams in the nation for several years running.
Oregon State is 1-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 4-10 against the spread in their last 14 home games, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six games. Oregon is 6-0 against the spread in their last six Pac-12 games, 16-5 against the spread in their last 21 road games, and 19-7 against the spread following a win. The underdog is 5-2-1 against the spread in the last eight meetings of these two.
I like Oregon here but I am wary to go big because this is such a bitter rivalry which usually leads to close games so my play is the Ducks but it is just a lean.
