The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns visit the Troy Trojans with an eye on the Sun Belt crown.
The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns had been tearing up the Sun Belt until running in to Appalachian State and suffering a 35-16 defeat as an eight point favorite. The Mountaineers broke open a close game with a 21-3 second half run to deliver the Ragin' Cajuns their lone conference defeat. ASU was strong on both sides of the ball with a 427-259 edge in yardage with the ability to both run and throw while ULL struggled to establish either. Alonzo Harris and Elijah McGuire gave the Ragin' Cajuns a threat on the ground with 96 yards on 22 carries but more was needed in the air when points were needed quickly. Terrance Broadway completed 21-33 for 160 yards but nothing down the field.

The Troy Trojans were thought to be at least competitive in 2014 but they have been anything but which prompted long time head coach Larry Blakeney to call it quits at the end of the season. The Trojans have won back to back contests and would love to send Blakeney in to retirement on a three game winning streak and deny UL Lafayette a shot at the conference title. Both sides of the ball need to play as they did in a 34-17 victory at Idaho where they rolled up 524 yards and held the Vandals to 386 yards and three turnovers including a pick six. Jordan Chunn led a solid rushing attack with 193 yards on 28 carries with a touchdown while Khary Franklin added 61 yards on 15 totes. Brandon Silvers threw for 231 yards with 41 yard and 51 yard scoring strikes to Bryan Holmes.
The Ragin' Cajuns are 1-8-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record while the under is 5-1 in Ragin' Cajuns last 6 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game with the over going 5-1-1 in Ragin' Cajuns last 7 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. For Troy the under is 4-0 in Trojans last 4 vs. a team with a winning record and the over is 14-2 in Trojans last 16 games on turf while the Trojans are 11-2 ATS in their last 13 games following a bye week. Head to head the road team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. I have grown to thouroughly distrust Troy as some of their performances have been abysmal at best but if their is any competiveness in this team they should give Blakeney all they have in his last game...
