The West Virginia Mountaineers and the Texas A&M Aggies face off o Monday in the Autozone Liberty Bowl.
The West Virginia Mountaineers finished their regular season at 7-5 but ended it with a win after suffering three straight losses. The WVU offense is averaging 33.2 points and 502.1 yards per game and they will be without regular QB Clint Trickett and will turn to Skyler Howard who completed 55.4 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and no interceptions. Rushel Shell leads the Mountaineer ground attack with 766 yards and seven touchdowns and Wendeall Smallwood has rushed for 645 yards and Kevin White was the top receiver with 102 catches and nine touchdowns and Mario Alford had 62 catches and 10 touchdowns. The West Virginia defense allows 26.2 points and 388.6 yards per game with 13 takeaways and 18 sacks. Nick Kwiatkowski has 96 tackles, Karl Joseph has 82 tackles, and Shaq Riddick has 7.0 sacks. Obviously the big thing WVU will have to overcome is the loss of Trickett but even in their losses they were competitive this season.

The Texas A&M Aggies finished the season at 7-5 losing their last two games and five of their last seven. The Texas A&M offense is averaging 34.4 points and 449.2 yards per game and they are led by QB Kyle Allen who has completed 61.1 percent of his passes with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions. Trey Williams and Tre Carson have split carries with Williams averaging 6.8 yards per carry and the two of the scoring a combined 11 touchdowns. Ricky Seals-Jones has 48 catches and four touchdowns, Josh Reynolds has 47 catches and 12 touchdowns, Malcome Kennedy has 46 catches and Speedy Noil has 44 catches as the Aggies spread the ball around. The Texas A&M defense allows 27.3 points and 449 yards per game with 12 takeaways and 33 sacks. Howard Mathews has 82 tackles, Deshazor Everett has 73 tackles, and Myles Garrett has 11 sacks. Texas A&M is loaded with young talent and this game will be a stepping stone for next season.
West Virginia is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight neutral site games, 1-4 against the spread in their last five bowl games, and 6-14 against the spread in their last 20 games after gaining 450 or more yards in their previous game. Texas A&M is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight bowl games, 2-5 against the spread against the Big 12, and 1-7 against the spread in their last eight games.
The total is set at 65.5 and the logical play here just seems to be the over as both of these teams are offense first and wide open so we should see plenty of points.
