The Texas Longhorns tangle with the Arkansas Razorbacks in the Advocare V100 Texas Bowl.
The Arkansas Razorbacks outscored opponents 32-20 and finished 6-6 in the SEC West which was last in the division which says volumes of how tough the conference was. The defense gave up 324 yards with a top 25 run D that gave up just 124 yards while the offense averaged 411 yards with 220 yards coming on the ground. Quarterback Brandon Allen only connected on 56% but he was productive with 2,125 yards with 18 TD's and five interceptions. Keon Hatcher and Hunter Henry combined for over 1,000 receiving yards which was just enough to give opposing defenses something to think about aside from a bruising rushing attack. Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams formed a devistating tandem on the ground with 1,024 rushing yards each with nobody else totaling more then 149 yards.

The Texas Longhorns are hoping a return to the postseason is the beginning of a return to national prominance. The defensive minded Longhorns won three of their last four to finish 6-6 to squeeze out a Bowl invitation. Texas gave up 349 yards and 23 points behind the #13 pass defense that allowed 186 yards while the offense averaged less then 361 yards and 22+ points with average numbers in the air and on the ground. QB Tyrone Swoopes connected on nearly 59% of his throws for 2,352 yards for 13 scores and ten interceptions. John Harris was the top pass catcher with 1,015 yards with Jaxon Shipley posting another 571 yards while the duo of Malcolm Brown and Jonathan Gray combined for almost 1,300 yards yards on the ground. None of the top producers was explosive which tells us scoring was not easy.
The Razorbacks are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. Big 12 and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games while the over is 5-0 in Razorbacks last 5 non-conference games. For Texas the under is 5-0 in Longhorns last 5 games following a double-digit loss at home with the Longhorns going 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game while the over is 4-0 in Longhorns last 4 vs. SEC. I don't see a ton of scoring going on here by either team and the line says the same thing. I hate really low totals but I think that's the play here but please check back for any updates....
