The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are one of the few teams at the major college level that runs the option and they've done it well. The #12 team in the land have gotten the job done on both sides of the ball with the defense keeping the scoreboard respectable at 25 points allowed which gave the option a great chance at winning with 469 yards and 37 points. Quarterback Justin Thomas was a solid duel threat as he threw for a very good 1,595 yards with 17 touchdowns while also leading the team on the ground 965 yards and 5.5 yard average. Zach Laskey was the second leading runner with 788 yards while DeAndre Smelter being the only receive of significance with 715 and a 20.4 yard average which are huge numbers for a system geared to running the ball.
The Bulldogs are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss with the over is 6-1 in Bulldogs last 7 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game with the Bulldogs going 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game. For Georgia Tech the Yellow Jackets are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games on grass and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games overall while going 5-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. Mississippi State can certainly play some defense but when I see the option getting a touchdown I can't pass it up...
