The Central Michigan Chippewas look to build on seven wins last season and reach a bowl game for the third time in four years. Cooper Rush returns at quarterback after completing 63.6 percent of his passes for 3,157 yards, 27 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Jesse Kroll and Anthony Rice combined for more than 900 receiving yards and five touchdowns while Ben McCord had three touchdowns on 10 catches. Saylor Lavallii takes over at running back after rushing for 298 yards and four touchdowns last season. Tony Annese had three interceptions, Blake Serpa had four sacks and Joe Ostman had 60 tackles.
Oklahoma State is 2-5 SU in its last 7 games and the total has gone UNDER in 6 of Oklahoma State's last 9 games. Central Michigan is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games at home and the total has gone OVER in 4 of Central Michigan's last 6 games.
Central Michigan is certainly no pushover and has an experienced QB who played fairly well last season. While Oklahoma State has more talent, the Chippewas are more than capable of keeping this game close and cover with little problem. This is too many points to pass up in an opening game.
