The Line: Colorado State Rams -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Savannah State Tigers will travel to Hughes Stadium to take on the Colorado State Rams this Saturday in College Football action.
The Savannah State Tigers and Head Coach Ernest Wilson III suffered through the 2014 season going winless with a 0-12 (0-8 MEAC) record. The Tigers have lost 21 straight game and things are still looking bleak heading into the 2015 season as they are still facing practice restrictions due to NCAA violations due to academic violations. Savannah State struggled on both sides of the ball in the 2014 season as they averaged just 11.4 ppg while allowing their opponents average 46.4 games. On the season, the Tigers were outscored by an incredible 557 to 137 margin. The Tigers did have a few close games in conference last year in which they were within single digits and have 14 starters back this year. Leading the way for Savannah State will be QB Tino Smith II (50.6 comp %, 849 yds, 5 TD) and LB Trevion Ashford (73 tackles).

The Colorado State Rams biggest finished with a 10-3 record (6-2 MW) however was defeated 45-10 in the Las Vegas Bowl and also suffered a big loss when Head Coach Jim McElwain moved on to take the Head Coaching position with the Florida Gators. The Rams will entered the 2015 season with Mike Bobo (former OC for Georgia) at the helm, and although they no longer have QB Garrett Grayson ( 64.3 comp %, 4006 yds, 32 TD, 7 Int), the Rams still have a good squad the can challenge the top teams of the MW. The Rams have one of the best WR in all of college football in Rashard Higgins who finished last season with an incredible 1750 yds, 18.2 yds/reception, and 17 TD. On the defensive side, the Rams will return 8 starters and have an above average defensive line led by Joe Kawulok and Justin Hansen and a solid safety in Kevin Pierre-Louis.
The Tigers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Rams are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 non-confernece games and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games in September.
This game has yet to be lined and honestly, I won’t be surprised if it’s not. Savannah State is one of the worst teams in FCS and stand absolutely no chance against any FBS team as along an above average team in the Colorado State Rams. If this game is lined, it’s going to be high and if anything I’m more interested in an Over/Under number in this one. I’ll probably stay away from this one and more interested to see where the line would be in this one if they release one.
