The UCLA Bruins will begin their season at home against the Virginia Cavaliers.
UCLA enters this season has one of the favorites to win the PAC-12. UCLA returns 17 starters from last season’s team. The Bruins will have a freshman quarterback under center in Josh Rosen. Rosen will have a talented offense around him. Running back Paul Perkins led the Pac-12 in rushing last year and will take some of the pressure off of the freshman quarterback. The leader of UCLA's defense will be linebacker Myles Jack who recorded 87 tackles last season.

Virginia looked to be having a good season last year until they started conference play where they only won 2 games. Matt Johns will be the starting quarterback for the Cavaliers after Greyson Lambert transferred. Taquan Mizzell will likely be the featured back in this offense. Virginia has some big losses to fill on defense. Cornerback Quin Blanding was a freshman All-American and will lead this secondary with his experience and talent. Defensive Linemen David Dean will be holding it down up front as well as Andrew Brown who dealt with injuries last season.
Virginia is 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 non-conference games and the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall. UCLA is 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games in September and the under is 4-1-1 in the Bruins last 6 home games,
UCLA is far better then Virginia on paper and they should show it come Saturday. I think UCLA will be able to cover this reasonable spread.
