Fans of offensive football loved this one with the Ducks winning the yardage battle 731-549 with the teams combining for 35 first downs. The defensive minded Michigan State Spartans turned back a pesky Western Michigan 37-24 on the road to open the season with a win. The Spartans defense held a really strong Broncos offense to 383 yards and picked off a pair of passes while their own attack logged 452 yards. Connor Cook was only 15-31 in the air for 256 yards but a pair of touchdowns and no picks gave MSU a balanced offense. Aaron Burbridge was the Spartans top option through the air with four receptions for 117 yards while Josiah Price and DeAnthony Arnett combined for five catches for 85 yards an a TD each. LJ Scott led the Michigan State rushing attack with 77 yards with Madre London and Gerald Holmes combining for 113 yards and three scores.
The over is 9-1-1 in Ducks last 11 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game and the Ducks are 11-2 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a winning home record while Oregon are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The over is 4-0 in Spartans last 4 vs. Pac-12 and is 4-0 in Spartans last 4 games in September while going 7-0 in Spartans last 7 non-conference games. I just think the Spartans will score and get enough stops to get the cover here…
